How can my major make the world a better place?
I'm currently studying food engineering and I personally think that this career opens a lot of doors to the future, because thanks to it we have been able to understand how food is composed and how we can get the most out of them, in the sense of making them more durable, more nutritious and satisfying.
These characteristics, as I said before, open doors to the future because thanks to them we could reduce world hunger, being able to make foods with high nutritional value to reduce the nutritional malnutrition in both children and adults.
On the other hand, thanks to the genetic modification of plants, we can considerably reduce the appearance of pests in fields and orchards, helping hard-working people not to lose their plantations because of them.
I'm still studying so I still have to learn many of the benefits that this career brings us, but I look forward to graduating so I can make use of all the knowledge I'm learning.
